Anti-Virus protection

Anti-Virus is an application component that protects your Exchange Online organization against viruses and other security threats.

Anti-Virus scans messages using the latest version of anti-virus databases, Heuristic Analyzer, and the Kaspersky Security Network cloud services.

You can enable or disable Anti-Virus protection of your mailboxes.

Following the scan, Anti-Virus assigns one of the following statuses to messages:

If you enable Anti-Virus protection, messages with detected viruses or other malicious objects will be automatically moved to Backup and remain unavailable for users unless restored by Administrator.

By default, Anti-Virus protection is enabled.
