For version 2.1.1, the KSMG application is delivered based on Rocky Linux or RED OS. The procedure for installing and configuring the application differs depending on the chosen distribution option.
Installing and configuring KSMG based on Rocky Linux
The application must be installed on an empty virtual machine without an operating system. The application is installed using an ISO file that contains an operating system image with pre-installed KSMG and a built-in mail server.
Installing KSMG based on Rocky Linux involves the following steps:
Connect the installation ISO file to the created virtual machine and power on the virtual machine.
Configuration is performed using the Setup Wizard.
When deploying a KSMG cluster containing multiple nodes, for each node, you must create a new virtual machine and perform the initial configuration procedure. Cloning existing virtual machines to create new nodes is not allowed.
After installation, the application begins recording information relevant to the operation of its components in the KSMG event log, the syslog event log, as well as trace files in accordance with the specified trace level. For more details, see the section About data provision.
Installing and configuring KSMG based on RED OS
The RED OS operating system is not included in the KSMG distribution kit and must be purchased separately.
Installation of KSMG based on RED OS involves the following steps:
You must create the installation ISO file on a computer or virtual machine running RED OS.
