Viewing detailed scan results
To view detailed scan results:
- Open the context menu by right-clicking the Kaspersky Security Scan icon located in the notification area of the Microsoft Windows taskbar.
- In the context menu, select View scan results.
The Scan results window opens.
- To view a detailed report, select one of the following sections:
- Malware contains a detailed report about malicious programs detected on your computer.
- System protection contains a detailed report about the protection status of your computer's operating system. The report tells you:
- Whether an anti-virus application and firewall are running on your computer, and what their status is.
- Whether the anti-virus databases of the anti-virus application installed on the computer are current.
If the anti-virus databases are outdated, a corresponding message appears in the report.
- Other issues – the section contains a detailed report about potential problems related to the operating system settings.
If you consider any problem in this section to be irrelevant, select it in the list and click the
button. You can ignore all problems in this section. Kaspersky Security Scan does not take into account ignored problems when displaying general scan results. Ignored problems are moved to the Ignored problems section.
- Ignored problems contains a detailed report about problems that you ignored earlier.
If you want to return a problem to the Other issues section, select one in the list and click the
button.
- Recommendations contains tips on how to improve the protection status of your computer.
- Unknown problems contains a detailed report about files that the application did not scan for any particular reason (for example, password-protected archives).
To rescan detected problems, click the Re-check list button.
After viewing a scan report, you might want to take action to protect your computer:
- If a computer scan has revealed that an anti-virus application and/or firewall is not installed on your computer, you are advised to buy an anti-virus application.
- If the scan has detected viruses, and no anti-virus application is installed on your computer, we recommend that you use the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security.
- If the scan detected a virus and an anti-virus application is already installed on your computer, we recommend that you use Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.
Unlike Kaspersky Internet Security, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool disinfects a computer that has already been infected, but does not ensure real-time protection against threats.
- If the scan detected other problems, we recommend that you use Kaspersky Internet Security, which provides real-time protection for your computer and helps to solve other issues.
For detailed information about how Kaspersky Internet Security protects your computer against threats, please refer to the web page on this application.
The first step in resolving detected problems is to click the green button located in the upper right part of the Scan results window.
