Migration from Kaspersky Security for Windows Server to Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows

This article concerns Kaspersky Security for Windows Server (11.0.1.897 (Kaspersky Security for Business)).
On 30 June 2025, limited support for Kaspersky Security for Windows Server (KSWS) as part of Kaspersky Security for Business will end.
KSWS will continue to be supported as part of the Kaspersky Security for Storage solution, but only to provide protection for network storage.
You can find out whether your license is related to Kaspersky Security for Storage in the license details in CompanyAccount.
To retain all the familiar KSWS features, we recommend that you migrate to Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows. The application has been further optimized for use in server scenarios.
To prepare for the migration, follow the recommendations:
- Read the KESW license policy.
- If necessary, purchase a license that suits your needs.
If you are using Kaspersky Security for Business, you can activate KESW with your current license.
- Follow the recommendations from the migration guide.
- Learn the predefined scan exclusions and trusted applications available in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows 12.6 and above.
If you are using outdated operating systems, you can:
- Continue to use KSWS under the Kaspersky Security for Storage license.
- For Windows Server 2003/2003 R2/2008: buy a license for Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes for Windows or Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security (KESS) for Windows. Migrate from KSWS to one of these applications.
Windows Server 2003/2003 R2/2008/2008 R2 operating systems will be supported in KESS for Windows 3.4 (the version is scheduled for release on November 29, 2024). - For Windows Server 2008 R2: migrate to KESW under the Kaspersky Security for Business license.
