How to protect keyboard input in Kaspersky Internet Security 20
When you enter the information from the keyboard, criminals can intercept it using spying software secretly installed on your computer. Spyware registers keystrokes whenever you are using a hardware keyboard. Use On-Screen Keyboard of Kaspersky Internet Security to prevent your data from being intercepted.
It supports the following browsers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0 and later*
Internet Explorer versions 8.0–11.0 in the new Windows interface style are not supported - Microsoft Edge based on Chromium 77.0.235.25 and later*
- Microsoft Edge (all versions)
- Mozilla Firefox 52.x–65.x and later*
- Mozilla Firefox ESR 52.x–60.5 and later*
- Google Chrome 48.x–68.x and later*
To start using On-Screen Keyboard after you install Kaspersky Internet Security, restart the computer and enable the Kaspersky Protection extension. See this article for instructions.
On-Screen Keyboard cannot protect your data from interception if you enter it on a website that has been hacked.
How to open On-Screen Keyboard from the browser
- Open the browser and click . It is located to the right or left of the address bar, depending on your browser.
If the Kaspersky Protection extension icon is missing, enable the extension in the browser settings. See this article for instructions. - Click Open On-Screen Keyboard.
The keyboard will appear on the screen.
How open On-Screen Keyboard from the application's shortcut menu
- In the lower-right corner of the Desktop, right-click the application icon and select Tools → On-Screen Keyboard from the shortcut menu.
If the application icon is hidden from the taskbar, click .
The keyboard will appear on the screen.
How to add a quick launch icon for On-Screen Keyboard to your browser
- In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click .
- To learn how to open the main application window, see this article.
- Go to the Additional section and click Secure Data Input.
- Make sure the checkboxes are selected:
- Open On-Screen Keyboard by typing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+P
- Show quick launch icon in data entry fields.
- To select the categories of websites for which the On-Screen Keyboard icon will be shown, click Edit categories.
- Select or clear the checkboxes for the categories:
- All data entry fields for Safe Money
- Banks
- Electronic commerce
- Internet communication media
- You can customize the scope of website categories for which the On-Screen Keyboard icon will be displayed in a browser. To do that, click Manage exclusions.
- Click Add.
- Enter the web address mask, select a scope and a choose if the On-Screen Keyboard icon must be displayed or hidden.
- Click Add.
A quick launch icon for On-Screen Keyboard will be displayed on the websites you have selected and hidden in the others.

Data input
To enter data, make sure that you have selected the correct input field, and then click the On-Screen Keyboard keys using the mouse.
Special input mode
If you need to use a special input mode (e.g. capital letters or special characters), click Shift, Alt or Ctrl and proceed with typing. This key will be considered pressed until you click it again. To exit this mode, click the key once again.
Keyboard language
To switch the language layout of the On-Screen Keyboard, use one of the following methods:
- Left-click Ctrl and simultaneously right-click Shift on the On-Screen Keyboard.
- Left-click Alt and simultaneously right-click Shift on the On-Screen Keyboard.
- Press Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift on the hardware keyboard.
