Kaspersky Technical Support may request a trace file in order to troubleshoot issues with the management plug-in for Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows.
To create a trace file for the management plug-in:
- Download the archive on the computer with the Administration Console installed:
- Plug-in for version 12.8: KES12.8_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.7: KES12.7_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.6: KES12.6_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.5: KES12.5_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.4: KES12.4_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.3: KES12.3_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.2: KES12.2_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.1: KES12.1_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 12.0: KES12.0_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 11.11: KES11.11_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for version 11.10: KES11.10_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- Plug-in for versions 11.7–11.9: KES11.7-11.9_plugin_trace_on_off.zip
- If Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows is installed on the computer with the Administration Console, make sure that Self-Defense is disabled in the application.
All changes made during the diagnostics must be temporary. After completing the diagnostics, enable the application Self-Defense again to maintain a high level of protection.
- Unpack the archive and run the file:
- For 32-bit operating systems: Trace_ON_x32.reg
- For 64-bit operating systems: Trace_ON_x64.reg
- Restart the Administration Console.
- Reproduce the situation in which the issue with the application management plug-in arose.
- Disable tracing. To do so, run the following file from the archive:
- For 32-bit operating systems: Trace_OFF_x32.reg
- For 64-bit operating systems: Trace_OFF_x64.reg
- Send the resulting file to Kaspersky Technical Support via Kaspersky CompanyAccount.
By default, the management plug-in trace files will be created in the hidden folder:
- For versions 11.7.0–11.9.0: %ProgramData%\Kaspersky Lab\KES\Traces
- For versions 11.10.0 and later: %ProgramData%\Kaspersky Lab
Trace files have the following format: KES.Version number_Date of creation_Time of creation_PID.AdminGUI.log
