What to do if a hard drive fails
If your hard drive fails, you may lose important files. To avoid data loss, backup your files regularly to different media (removable hard drives, USB drives, optical drives) or cloud storages (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive).
With Kaspersky Security Cloud, you can create secure backup copies of your files in the following locations:
- Local drive
- Removable drive (e.g. external hard drive)
- Network drive
- FTP server
- Online storage (Dropbox)
To learn how to create backup copies with Kaspersky Security Cloud, see this guide.
Kaspersky Security Cloud monitors the condition of your hard drive with the S.M.A.R.T. self-test. If there is any risk of failure, Kaspersky Security Cloud will offer you to copy the files from that drive to another location.
