How to manage access to devices in the home Wi-Fi network through Kaspersky Security Cloud 20 for Mac
Cybercriminals can gain access to your Wi-Fi network by guessing your password or hacking your network security. If someone else is using your network, the Internet connection speed may decrease and your passwords and other personal data may be intercepted. Use Kaspersky Security Cloud for Mac to monitor which devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network.
How to view devices connected to the network
In the main window of Kaspersky Security Cloud for Mac, click Home Network.
In the window that opens, you will see your router, Mac, and other devices connected to the home Wi-Fi network. If a Kaspersky solution is installed on the device, the device will have the icon.
How to block access to your Wi-Fi network
If you have noticed an unknown device connected to your Wi-Fi network, you can find out its MAC address and block it from your network in your router settings. To do so:
- In the main window of Kaspersky Security Cloud for Mac, click Home Network.
- Select the device.
- Copy the MAC address of this device.
- Block the device’s MAC address in your router’s settings. See the website of your router’s vendor for instructions. For example, TP-Link.
After you have blocked the device’s MAC address, it will no longer be able to connect to the network.
We also recommend that you change the Wi-Fi password. For recommendations on setting a strong password, see this article. To learn other ways you can protect your wireless network, see this article.
