Web Anti-Virus in Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac
Web Anti-Virus is a component which prevents virus infections. It intercepts and blocks execution of scripts located on dangerous websites. The component monitors traffic transferred via HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols.
For analyzing objects, Web Anti-Virus uses antivirus databases as well as the heuristic algorithm which detects unknown threats. If Web Anti-Virus detects pieces of malicious code in the object, it performs the action selected in the preferences.
How to enable or disable Web Anti-Virus
- Open the preferences in Kaspersky Internet Security 16.
- In the Protection tab, select or clear the check box Enable Web Anti-Virus.
How to set an action to be performed on detected threats
- Open the preferences in Kaspersky Internet Security 16.
- In the Protection tab, select:
- Block dangerous web traffic objects automatically. In this case, Web Anti-Virus will automatically block detected threats. This option is set by default.
- Prompt for action. In this case, Web Anti-Virus will notify you when threats are detected and prompt to select an action: allow or block them.
How to enable or disable secure connections check
When a secure connection is being established, Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac checks the authenticity of the website’s digital certificate. If the certificate is not authentic, the application will either block the connection or show a notification for you to choose whether to accept or decline the certificate.
To enable or disable secure connections check:
- Open the preferences in Kaspersky Internet Security 16.
- In the Protection tab, select or clear the check box Check secure connections (HTTPS).
- Select one of the options:
- Always. All established secure connections will be checked.
- Only for Parental Control, Safe Money, and Privacy Protection. All secure connections will be checked only when these components are enabled. This option is set by default.
