How to enable or disable protection in Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac

Kaspersky Lab specialists strongly advice not to disable protection, as it may result in infection of your computer and data loss.
Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac has the following indications of disabled protection:
- Inactive (grey) application icon in the menu bar.
- Red colour of the security indicator (the computer picture in the left part of the main application window).
How enable or disable protection from the application's shortcut menu
To enable or disable Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac protection from the application's shortcut menu, in the menu bar click the application icon and select the option from the menu:
- Turn Protection Off.
- Turn Protection On.
How enable or disable protection from Preferences
To enable or disable protection in Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac from the Preferences window:
- Open the Preferences window in Kaspersky Internet Security 16.
- In the Protection tab, go to the General section and clear the check box Enable Protection.
How to enable the protection from the main application window
Enable the protection from the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security 15 for Mac:
- Open Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac.
- Click Turn Protection On.
What to do when the protection is restored
After you have enabled protection in Kaspersky Internet Security 16 for Mac:
- Update databases.
- Run a virus scan for viruses.
