After you report a problem to Kaspersky Customer Service specialists, they may ask you to generate a report with information about the operation of the extended version of Kaspersky Password Manager and send it to Kaspersky Customer Service. Customer Service specialists may also ask you to create a trace file. The trace file makes it possible to perform a step-by-step examination of the execution of application commands and determine when errors occur.
If Customer Service specialists need more detailed information about your problem, they will ask you to change the application settings in system tools on your computer. Customer Service specialists will give you all the information you need to perform these actions (step-by-step instructions, what settings should be changed, scripts, additional command line options, debugging modules, special utilities, etc.) and they will inform you of what data to provide for debugging purposes.
Contents and storage of trace files
Trace files are stored on your computer in a protected format and contain information about the following events registered by Kaspersky Password Manager:
- Event time
- Thread number
- Application component that caused the event
- Importance level (informational event, warning, critical event, error)
- Description of the event involving execution of a command by an application component and the result of the execution of this command
Trace files only contain data required to troubleshoot application errors.
Activation codes for Kaspersky Total Security 2016 or later and Kaspersky Small Office Security version 5 or later may be saved in Kaspersky Password Manager trace files if these applications are used together on the same device.
