Migrating KSVLA Light Agent tasks and policies
You can migrate the settings of KSVLA Light Agent policies and tasks using the Policies and Tasks Batch Conversion Wizard (hereinafter also referred to as the "Migration Wizard").
The Migration Wizard for KSVLA Light Agent is available only in the Administration Console (MMC). Policy and task settings cannot be migrated in the Web Console and Cloud Console.
The following special considerations are involved in migrating policies and tasks:
- A new policy has the name <Policy> (converted).
- The new policy has the Inactive policy status.
- The prohibition of modifying settings (the "padlock") is not migrated. The Migration Wizard sets default values.
- Policy profiles are not migrated. You must manually add the policy profiles.
- Improved trusted zone management. In KSVLA Light Agent, you could add predefined exclusions only when creating a policy. Subsequently, in policy properties, you could configure previously added predefined exclusions or add exclusions manually. You cannot add predefined exclusions in policy properties. In KES Light Agent, predefined exclusions are available both during policy creation and in the properties of the created policy. You can also select predefined exclusions in the installation package.
- The configuration of application user interface in Kaspersky Endpoint Security was moved from the installer to the policy. If you need, for example, to hide the user interface of the application, manage policy settings.
- The sets of functionality for configuring right-based access control (RBAC) are different in Kaspersky Endpoint Security and KSVLA Light Agent. You must configure user access rights to functional areas from scratch.
How to use the Policies and Tasks Batch Conversion Wizard to migrate KSVLA Light Agent policy settings
- In the Administration Console, select the Administration Server and right-click to open the context menu.
- Select All Tasks → Policies and tasks batch conversion wizard.
The Policies and Tasks Batch Conversion Wizard will start. Follow the instructions of the Wizard.
Step 1. Selecting the application for which you need to convert policies and tasks
At this step, you need to select Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows. Go to the next step.
Step 2. Conversion of policies
Select the Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 5.2 Light Agent for Windows policy that you want to convert. Go to the next step.
The Migration Wizard will then begin to convert the policies. During conversion, the Migration Wizard prompts you to accept the conditions of KSN Statement. A new policy has the name <Policy> (converted).
Step 3. Conversion of tasks
The Migration Wizard creates new tasks for Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows. In the task list, select the KSVLA Light Agent tasks that you want to create for Kaspersky Endpoint Security. The new tasks will be named <Task name> (converted). Go to the next step.
Step 4. Wizard completion
Exit the Wizard.
After migrating a policy, you must open the properties of the policy, check its settings, and save the policy. If you do not complete these steps, KES Light Agent may ignore the converted policy.
Pay special attention to the migration of Light Agent's SVM connection settings, exclusion lists, trusted applications, trusted web addresses, Application Control rules.
