Based on the device scan results as part of configuration control jobs, the application can save the received configurations for each device. You can compare the saved device configurations when working with the devices table.
Unlike change detection and event enrollment algorithms for device configuration control, when using the function for comparing saved configurations, you can compare any saved device configurations (not just the last received configuration with the previous or benchmark configuration). This capability is available if the device has saved configurations that were received as a result of the job runs in the Compare with benchmark and/or Archive versions configuration processing modes.
When comparing configurations for a device, bear in mind that configurations received by the application are retained for a limited time and automatically deleted as new ones come in. Deletion frequency depends on how much data comes in and how frequently. Only the benchmark and the last received configurations are not automatically deleted. If needed, users with the Administrator role can set any saved configurations as benchmark configurations.
To compare saved device configurations:
The details area appears in the right part of the web interface window.
You will see a window containing detailed information about the selected configuration component.
You will see a window containing the results of comparing the selected configuration component with the previous or the benchmark configuration. The date and time when the compared configurations were received are displayed in the upper part of the window.
