Managing services

A service can consist of a set of different protocols and their combinations. You can use services to create security rules, decryption rules, and local event filters. The Services section contains all user-added combinations of source and destination ports and protocols.

The table of services is displayed in the Application & Services → NGFW → Objects → Services section.

The table contains the following information about services:

• Name is the unique name of the service.
• Description is an arbitrary description. This setting is optional.
• Value is an added protocol with configured settings. If there is more than one protocol, a link is displayed, which you can click to open the service editing window.
