Starting Kaspersky Rescue Tool involves the following steps:

1 Creating a boot disk

You can write the Kaspersky Rescue Disk image on a USB drive or a DVD. This lets you use Kaspersky Rescue Disk as a portable operating system for disinfecting your computer. To make this possible, Kaspersky Rescue Disk gains access to your computer's data independently from the installed operating system and software.

2 Booting the computer from a USB drive or DVD

To select the USB drive or DVD:

  1. Enter your computer's Boot Menu. To do so, after powering on the computer, press Delete or F2.

The keyboard shortcut for managing BIOS settings may be different, depending on the model of your computer.

  2. Select the option to boot the computer from USB drive or DVD.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Wait until Kaspersky Rescue Disk starts loading.

If your keyboard or mouse is not working when Kaspersky Rescue Disk is loaded, make sure that input device support is enabled in BIOS settings (Advanced → USB Configuration section).
