Enabling the saving of application settings

You can enable the saving of application settings each you start the application, or you can enable this functionality on a permanent basis using the krd_menu.cfg configuration file (see instructions below).

To enable the application settings saving functionality:

  1. Boot from the Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
  2. At the mode selection step, press E.

    This opens the command line of the application.

  3. In the linux line, add the persistence option.

  4. Press Ctrl+X.
  5. Wait until Kaspersky Rescue Disk starts in graphic mode.

As a result, Kaspersky Rescue Disk starts with settings loaded from the USB drive. The application will also save modified settings to the USB drive.

To enable the application settings saving functionality on a permanent basis:

  1. In the file system of the USB drive, find the boot/grub/krd_menu.cfg file.
  2. Add the persistence option.

As a result, Kaspersky Rescue Disk will always start with settings loaded from the USB drive.
