Kaspersky Sandbox detects and automatically blocks complex threats on client devices (workstations, computers, servers, hereinafter also "workstations").

The solution is intended for corporate users.

Kaspersky Sandbox consists of the following components:

  • Kaspersky Sandbox – responsible for the server side of the solution. Kaspersky Sandbox is installed on one or several servers within your organization's network. The servers can be clustered. Virtual images of Microsoft Windows operating systems are deployed on servers with Kaspersky Sandbox. The objects being scanned are launched in these virtual images. Kaspersky Sandbox analyzes the behavior of objects to detect malicious activity and complex threats that might harm an organization’s IT infrastructure.
  • Kaspersky Security Center with Web Console. Kaspersky Security Center lets you centrally manage the solution and its settings through a single web interface.
  • Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) applications that are compatible with Kaspersky Sandbox. EPP applications are installed on workstations in your organization's network and provide comprehensive protection of workstations against various types of threats, network attacks, and frauds, and also automatically perform the Threat Response actions configured in the policies of Kaspersky Security Center.

EPP applications include Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows, Kaspersky Security for Windows Server, and Kaspersky Security for Virtualization Light Agent. Kaspersky Security for Windows Server and Kaspersky Security for Virtualization Light Agent do not have built-in support for Kaspersky Sandbox.

  • Kaspersky Endpoint Agent. Kaspersky Endpoint Agent facilitates communication between Kaspersky Sandbox and EPP applications without built-in support for Kaspersky Sandbox, and also automatically performs Threat Response actions for threats detected by Kaspersky Sandbox.

You can configure integration between Kaspersky Endpoint Agent and Kaspersky Sandbox in the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console or using the command line interface locally on the device.

For complete information about Kaspersky Sandbox, as well as for information on configuring Kaspersky Endpoint Agent's integration from Kaspersky Sandbox's side, refer to the Kaspersky Sandbox Help.
