Recommendations on configuring rules in file encryption policy (FLE) in Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 for Windows
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows operates encrypted files in a decrypted form according to the default policy settings. We recommend that you create additional rules in the file encryption policy (FLE) for applications that you regularly use, for example, text editors or browsers.
Browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge fall under this default policy, so if you upload a file to a website, for example, dropbox.com, the file gets decrypted. This can cause information leaks. Downloading encrypted files in these browsers is unavailable due to their work logic.
To download and upload encrypted files with no risk of the information being leaked, add browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge to the file encryption policy (FLE) and set the rule Allow access to encrypted files only as ciphertext. See the Online Help page for instructions.
Other browsers, such as Google Chrome, do not require any additional settings.
