Updating the application from a previous version

You need to prepare to install before installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.3.0 for Linux can be updated to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.4.0 for Linux.

You can update Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.3.0 for Linux in one of the following ways:

• Locally from the command line
• Remotely using Kaspersky Security Center

You can update Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.2.Х for Linux to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.4.0 for Linux using any of the following procedures:

• first, update Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.2.X for Linux to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.3.0 for Linux, and then to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.4.0 for Linux.
• first, remove Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.2.X for Linux, and then install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.4.0 for Linux.

During the update, the application settings and the application log are migrated to the new version of the application. If the transfer of application settings fails for any reason, the application is set to the default values.

Even if Kaspersky Endpoint Security is launched before the update process start, if the update is completed successfully, a new application version is launched.

If an error occurs while updating the application, the update is rolled back and the previous version of the application is started. In this case, an error message will be displayed, but the package manager (rpm/dpkg) will indicate the new version.
