USB devices may not work after the installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows

USB devices may become unavailable after the installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows. We have fixed this issue in the latest application versions. If you encounter such issue, do the following:

  1. If Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows is installed on a latop, make sure all drivers are up to date. If the drivers are obsolete, update them and check if the issue persists.
  2. Uninstall Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows locally or through Kaspersky Security Center. For instructions, see Online Help
  3. Restart your computer. If the issue persists without Kaspersky Endpoint Security installed, proceed to step 5.
  4. If removing Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows restored access to the USB keyboard or mouse, try installing the application once again. If the issue reappeared, contact technical support.
  5. Submit a request to Kaspersky technical support via Kaspersky CompanyAccount. Please include a detailed description of the issue. Before contacting the support, see the guide on creating a request in the knowledge Base.

Provide the following in your request:

  • Version number of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows
  • When and from where you downloaded the installer
  • What Kaspersky solution was installed on your computer before Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows, and its version
  • If you installed the new version on top of the old one or removed it before starting the installation
  • Type of installation: local or remote
  • What devices have been affected: computers, laptops, virtual machines
  • Have other USB devices become unavailable too
  • If the device is connected to Kaspersky Security Center
  • If you can access USB devices in Safe Mode
