Exclusion scope name

Field for entering the exclusion scope name. This name will be displayed in the Scan exclusions table. The entry field must not be blank.

Use this scope in the scan task

This check box enables or disables the exclusion of this scope when an on-demand scan task is performed. If this check box is selected, Kaspersky Endpoint Security excludes this scope when the scan task is performed. If this check box is cleared, Kaspersky Endpoint Security includes this scope when the scan task is performed. You can later exclude this scope from scanning by selecting the check box. This check box is selected by default.

File system

In this drop-down list, you can select the type of file system to exclude from scan:

• Local selects local directories.
• Mounted selects remote directories mounted on the computer using the Samba or NFS protocol.
• All mounted selects all remote directories mounted on the computer using the Samba and NFS protocols.

Access protocol

In this drop-down list, you can select the remote access protocol:

• NFS
• Samba

  This drop-down list is available if the Mounted item is selected in the drop-down list of file systems.

Path

This is the entry field for specifying the path to the directory that you want to include in the exclusion scope. The / path is specified by default—Kaspersky Endpoint Security excluded all directories of the local file system from scanning.

This field is available if the Local option is selected in the drop-down list of file systems.

Masks

This list contains masks of the names of objects that Kaspersky Endpoint Security excludes from scanning. Masks are applied to objects only within the directory specified in the Path field. You can add, edit, or delete masks. The list contains the * mask (all objects) by default.

Clicking the Delete button causes Kaspersky Endpoint Security to remove the selected mask for the names of the files excluded from a scan.

This button is available if at least one file mask is selected in the list.

Clicking the mask opens the Object mask window. In this window, in the Enter object mask field, you can modify the template for the names of the files that Kaspersky Endpoint Security will exclude from a scan.

Clicking the Add button opens the Object mask window. In this window, in the Enter object mask field, you can define the template for the names of the files that Kaspersky Endpoint Security will exclude from a scan.

Examples: *.txt mask refers to all text files. *_my_file_??.html mask refers to html files starting with anything, and ending with _my_file_ and followed by any two characters (for example, 2019_my_file_09.html).
