Creating an installation package

An installation package is a set of files created for remote installation of a Kaspersky application via Kaspersky Security Center. The installation package contains a range of settings needed to install the application and get it running immediately after installation. The installation package is created using files with the .kpd and .kud extensions included in the application distribution kit. Kaspersky Endpoint Security installation package is common for all supported operating systems and processor architecture types.

To create an installation package:

  1. In Web Console main window, select Discovery and deploymentDeployment and assignmentInstallation packages.

    This opens a list of installation packages downloaded to Web Console.

  2. Click the Add button.

    The New Package Wizard starts. Follow the instructions of the Wizard.

Step 1. Selecting the installation package type

At this step, select the Create installation package for Kaspersky application option.

You can create an installation package from a file.

Step 2. Installation packages

At this step, select the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10.1.4 for Linux ARM64 Edition installation package. Information about the Kaspersky Endpoint Security distribution package will be displayed on the right. Click the Download and create installation package button. The installation package creation process starts. During creation of the installation package, you must accept the terms of the End User License Agreement.

The installation package will be created and added to the Web Console. Using the installation package, you can install Kaspersky Endpoint Security on corporate network computers or update the application version. In the installation package settings, you can also configure the application installation settings (see the table below). The installation package contains anti-virus databases from the Administration Server repository. You can update the databases in the installation package to reduce traffic consumption when updating the databases after installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security.

Application settings

Specify service locale. Select this check box to specify the locale used during operation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security. The locale in the format specified by RFC 3066. If this setting is not specified, the system locale is set by default.

Activate application. Select this check box to specify an activation code or the license key to activate Kaspersky Endpoint Security.

Update source

You can specify an update source:

  • Kaspersky update source
  • Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server
  • Other source on the local or global network

Installation options

Run update task after installation. Select this check box to run the Update task after Kaspersky Endpoint Security is installed.

Specify proxy settings. Select this check box to specify the address of the proxy server used to connect to the Internet.

Install kernel sources. Select this check box to automatically start of kernel module compilation.

Use GUI. Select this check box to enable the use of the graphical user interface.
