Kaspersky Security Center interaction errors occurring on networks without a DNS
Problem
If the Server machine is running Astra Linux Special Edition and the network connecting the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Networks Server and the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server does not have a domain name system (DNS), errors occur on the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Networks Server when performing one of the following:
- Enabling and configuring interaction with Kaspersky Security Center: the application displays the message,
Error on Server
. - Starting the database and application module update process with the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server selected as the source: the application displays the message,
Update installation failed due to an error that interrupted the process
.
Errors will occur even if the correct IP address of the Administration Server machine is specified in the connector settings when configuring interaction.
Solution
Reconfigure default node name lookup in Astra Linux Special Edition on the Server machine.
To reconfigure node name lookup:
- Open the operating system console.
- Open the Name Service Switch schema configuration file. To do so, enter the following command:
sudo mcedit /etc/nsswitch.conf
- Go to the line:
hosts: files dns
- Replace the default values with the following:
hosts: files myhostname
- Save and close the configuration file.
- Restart the operating system.
