The PLC configurations Registry (also referred to as “Registry”) is a shared list of all PLC configurations, that are used by the applications of the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity solution. PLC configuration is set of individual properties of a PLC, which can be specified in settings (IP address, rack number, model, etc.). You can add, modify and remove PLC configurations while working with the Registry.

The PLC configurations Registry can be filled manually or by importing a configuration file containing PLC configurations data.

The list of PLC configurations Registry is used for creating a protection scope of the PLC Project Integrity Check task, configured via the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console. When creating the PLC Project Investigation task list you can add and remove PLC configurations, that were added to the Registry. If you remove a PLC configuration from the task list, this configuration is not removed from the Registry.

Each PLC configuration added to the Registry acquires a unique identification number. If the PLC configuration is altered, the identification number changes. PLC configurations, that are added in a list of the PLC Project Investigation task in the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes Console, do not have any identification numbers. Such PLC configurations can be added to the Registry manually when creating a PLC Project Investigation task protection scope in the Kaspersky Security Center.

The list of PLC configurations of the PLC Project Investigation task in Kaspersky Security Center is populated from two sources:

  • PLC configurations without IDs, added to the list of a local task via the Application Console (the lists are synchronized automatically);
  • PLC configurations without IDs, added from the Registry by the administrator.

If the PLC configuration added to the PLC Project Investigation task list is removed from the Registry, Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes notifies you that the integrity check results might be distorted. Make sure that all PLC configurations in the PLC Project Investigation task list exist in the Registry and restart the PLC Project Investigation task.
