Updating anti-virus databases for Portable Scanner

You can update the anti-virus databases for Portable Scanner via command line only if current Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes license is available.

To update the anti-virus databases for Portable scanner:

1. Select one of the following options:
   
   • Update databases using the repositories of distribution points.

     In this case, create or configure the existing Database Update task for a device or a group of devices where Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes is installed, and start the task.
     

   • Update databases using Kaspersky Updater Utility (KUU).

     In this case, use KUU to download the updates to the folder located on the device.

2. After the updates are downloaded, run the command kavscan.exe update /source=<folder_name_for_database_updates>, where <folder_name_for_database_updates> is the repository of distribution points or a local folder with downloaded updates, depending on the option that you selected in the previous step.

   A Portable Scanner updates the databases in the Bases folder and verifies the databases. As a result, the scanner sends a notification about a successful update or about verification issues.
