About the Anti-virus protection feature

Anti-virus protection of your smartphone or tablet is provided by the Kaspersky Internet Security for Android app.

You must install Kaspersky Internet Security for Android after installing the main Kaspersky Security Cloud app. The premium version of Kaspersky Internet Security is included in your Kaspersky Security Cloud package.

About Kaspersky Internet Security for Android

The following anti-virus protection features are included in Kaspersky Internet Security for Android:

• Automatic protection against viruses and other malware in real time

  A program that infects other ones, by adding its code to them in order to gain control when infected files are run. This simple definition allows identifying the main action performed by any virus: infection.

• Automatic scanning of newly installed apps before they are started for the first time, using anti-virus databases and the Kaspersky Security Network cloud service

  An infrastructure of cloud services that provides access to the Kaspersky database with constantly updated information about the reputation of files, web resources, and software. Kaspersky Security Network ensures faster responses by Kaspersky applications to threats, improves the performance of some protection components, and reduces the likelihood of false positives.

• Automatic updating of anti-virus databases

  Databases that contain information about computer security threats known to Kaspersky as of when the anti-virus databases are released. Entries in anti-virus databases allow malicious code to be detected in scanned objects. Anti-virus databases are created by Kaspersky specialists and updated hourly.

• Scanning of the entire device, apps, or a selected folder

Kaspersky Internet Security for Android also offers you additional features:

• Internet Protection: protection when browsing the Internet
• Call&Text Filter: blocking of unwanted incoming calls and texts, such as advertising
• Anti-Theft, App Lock, and Privacy Protection features: protection of your data and apps against unauthorized access and locating your device if it is lost or stolen
