How to update installed applications through Kaspersky Security Cloud
The article refers to Kaspersky Security Cloud — Family and Kaspersky Security Cloud — Personal.
For security of your computer, it is important that you install latest updates of software you use. Updates fix errors and vulnerabilities and enhance compatibility with operating systems. Kaspersky Security Cloud finds new updates available for an application, it shows a notification in the lower right corner of the screen.
How to run a search for application updates
- In the main window of Kaspersky Security Cloud, click More Tools.
- If you don’t know how to open the application window, see this guide.
- Select Software Updater.
- Click Start search.
- If new updates for applications were detected during the search, Software Updater window will show the link to the list of the detected applications.
- To install all the detected updates, click Update all. Also, you can install updates for specific applications.
- If you do not want to update the application, you can add it to the exclusions list. In the drop-down list, select Do not update this application.
How to adjust updates search
By default, Kaspersky Security Cloud downloads and installs all detected updates unless the update installation requires accepting a new license agreement.
If you want to install only important updates which enhance the security:
- Open the settings of Kaspersky Security Cloud by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.
- If you don’t know how to open the application window, see this guide.
- In the In the Settings view, click Protection → Software Updater.
- In the section Install updates for applications, select Important updates that improve computer security.
- To view the list of applications for which the search for updates is not performed, click Exclusions.
- If you want to install applications for the application from the list of exclusions, remove it from the exclusions list.

Applications update issues
If the application failed to update, Kaspersky Security Cloud will notify you about it. For example, the update may fail due to Internet connection issues.
To eliminate the errors:
- Check the Internet connection.
- Log in as an administrator. You may not have sufficient permissions for installing updates.
- Close all running applications, as they may interfere with update installation.
- After installing updates, restart your computer. For installation of some updates, computer restart is required.
