Patches A–N for version 20.0.14.1085
Patch N
Patch N for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on May 20, 2022.
Patch N improves the stability and optimizes the performance of the application.
To install the patch:
- Run the database update of Kaspersky Security Cloud. For instructions, see this article.
- When the update completes, restart your computer.
To check if the patch was installed successfully, open the application and click Support in the lower-left corner. You will see the full version number of the application with letter n added at the end.
If the patch wasn't installed, wait for a few days. The patch is distributed gradually.
To complete the patch installation successfully, computer reboot is required. If you don't reboot the computer in seven days after the application receives the patch, the icon in Windows task bar will turn red.
Patch M
Patch M for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on September 23, 2020.
In patch M we have fixed some interface issues.
Patch L
Patch L for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on August 3, 2020.
In patch L:
- We have updated the License agreement for compliance with GDPR requirements.
- xSP subscriptions are now supported. Now you can buy, activate or renew your license through xSP subscriptions.
- We have reduced the number of notifications from the Devices in my network component that appear upon connection of new devices.
- We have changed the licensing plan for Kaspersky Security Cloud Family. Now it includes up to 10 devices.
- We have fixed the vulnerability through which protection could be disabled.
- We have fixed some application issues.
Patch K
Patch K for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on May 18, 2020.
In patch K:
- We have added full support of Windows 10 version 2004.
- Several application issues were fixed.
Patch J
Patch J for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on April 6, 2020.
In patch J:
- We have added the support of Microsoft Edge based on Chromium.
- Now after an unsuccessful attempt to automatically upgrade Kaspersky Security Cloud to the latest version two more attempts will be performed. Automatic updates will keep the application up-to-date and ensure protection against new threats.
- Now you can hide a pop-up that prompts installation of the Kaspersky Protection extension in Windows 7 and 8. To hide the notification, click Don't ask again.
- If your mobile device that you have connected to the home network for the first time is not yet protected with a Kaspersky application, you can now scan a QR code in Kaspersky Security Cloud for quick installation of the application.
- Several application issues were fixed.
Patch I
Patch I for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on February 18, 2020.
In patch I, we fixed several issues including those detected with your help.
Patch H
Patch H for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on February 4, 2020.
In patch H:
- We've added the option of scanning wired networks.
- We've further optimized the use of computer resources.
- We've added limited compatibility with Windows 10 20H1.
- We've added alternative color themes.
- We've fixed the vulnerability that allowed skipping the certificate check.
- We've fixed several minor issues, some of which have been detected with the help of our users.
Patch G
Patch G for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on December 9, 2019.
In Patch G:
- We have added the icon that shows the number of devices connected to your wi-fi network.
- The application now consumes less memory resources of your computer.
- We have simplified the process of installing the application on top of the older version: the screen Previously installed version of the application detected was removed.
- We have fixed several errors:
- Detailed information about the website wouldn't appear after hovering over Kaspersky Protection icon in the search results window.
- Wi-Fi networks wouldn't appear in the Network properties window of the Firewall component. Network type (public, trusted or local) was sometimes determined incorrectly.
- New applications could not be added to the Trusted, Restricted or Untrusted group in the Application Control component.
- The Backup task would stop running if the data prepared for backup included a folder with access denied.
- The Rarely used section would sometimes include applications that were in fact often used.
- Updating the application would sometimes caused earlier events to disappear from the Detailed reports section.
- We have fixed several minor application issues.
Patch F
Patch F for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on November 25, 2019.
In Patch F:
- We have fixed the vulnerability which allowed removing third-party extensions from Google Chrome.
- We have fixed a number of minor issues, some of which have been detected with the help of our users.
Patch Е
Patch E for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on October 23, 2019.
With patch E:
- We've added:
- support for Microsoft Windows 10 version 1909
- a new application icon — Midori Kuma
- a feature allowing you to ignore Notification Center recommendations
- The program installation package will now include Kaspersky Password Manager.
- You will now receive a report on the program operation during the previous license term along with the expiring license notification.
- Selecting a region while changing Kaspersky Free for Kaspersky Security Cloud Free became easier. You will now see only those regions in which Kaspersky Security Cloud Free is supported.
- We've optimized the certificate verification process. The websites will now load faster.
- The application will now remind you to set a password for accessing its settings. Adding a password will prevent Kaspersky Safe Kids from being removed via the Manage Applications window without securing your approval.
- We've eliminated certain critical vulnerabilities of the program.
- We've fixed:
- error in graphics driver occurring during the installation of the program
- malfunctions of the application interface
- error which caused malfunctions when working with Microsoft Office
- error which prevented some Wi-Fi networks from appearing in the network properties
- error which caused the damaged components notification to appear upon installing the program
- critical errors affecting installation of patches
- We have fixed a number of minor issues, some of which have been detected with the help of our users. .
Patch D
Patch D for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 was released on September 5, 2019.
Patch D fixes the vulnerability which could be used for acquiring unauthorized permissions in Windows.
Patch C
Patch C for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 has been released on July 29, 2019.
Patch C includes the following improvements:
- We have introduced the new logo to the interface of Kaspersky Security Cloud.
- We have improved the Account Check component: now you can create a list of user accounts to check, and Kaspersky Security Cloud will check them automatically in the background mode.
- Now you can install Kaspersky Security Cloud on a mobile device using the QR from the application interface.
- We have detected and fixed the issues related to JAR files and user variables of the SystemRoot and WinDir environment.
- For Microsoft Edge users: we have enhanced the speed of secure connections check by excluding trusted websites from the scope.
- We have fixed the following issues:
- Kaspersky Security Cloud could check a public network as a home network.
- The TDSSKiller tool sometimes failed to start if Kaspersky Security Cloud was running.
- The System Watcher component blocked the portable version of Puttytray in some cases.
- The Application Control component could ignore the Do not scan all traffic exclusion for selected applications.
- Kaspersky Security Cloud could skip backup of folders located on a network drive.
- Safe Money blocked access to www.alpha.gr in some cases.
- The Account Check component could skip the daily check of your My Kaspersky account.
Patches A and B
Patches A and B for Kaspersky Security Cloud version 20.0.14.1085 have been released on July 24, 2019.
Patches A and B include the following improvements:
- Enhanced protection when working with HSTS websites.
- The Safe Money icon will no longer be created on your Desktop. Now you can open the Safe Money component through the Kaspersky Security Cloud interface.
- We have replaced the link in the Support window with the link to the new Community. You can use it to ask questions about the application and search for information.
- We have fixed a number of minor issues, some of which have been detected with the help of our users.
Version 20.0.14.1085 release
Kaspersky Security Center 20 version 20.0.14.1085 was released on July 24, 2019.
What's new
- We have added full support of Microsoft Windows 10 RS4, RS5 and RS6 (19H1). You will not have any compatibility issues after upgrading the operating system.
- It is now possible to evaluate the application and send the score to us.
- The performance of Web Anti-Virus has been improved:
- It is now possible to use Windows certificate store when configuring access to HTTPS resources in the Mozilla Firefox browser. You will not experience any certificate problems while using Mozilla Firefox.
- When the Base Filtering Engine (BFE) service is disabled, the application restarts it to ensure continuous protection.
- Application services, such as Kaspersky Security Network, licensing and updating, now operate via the secure HTTPS protocol.
- Protection from remote management applications has been improved. You can now allow trusted remote management applications to change application settings.
- We have improved monitoring of password creation when registering on websites. The application now monitors strength of passwords on websites with a single password entry field.
- Mail Anti-Virus has been improved. It is now possible to use Windows certificate store when configuring access to HTTPS resources in the Mozilla Thunderbird mail client. You will not experience any certificate problems while using Mozilla Thunderbird.
- Safe Money has been improved:
- Most of settings from user's profile in the main browser are now automatically transferred to Protected Browser when Protected Browser is opened.
- Yandex Browser is supported.
- Webcam Protection has been improved. The application now doesn't show a notification when a trusted system process attempts to access the webcam.
- The performance of scanning executable files has been improved. Now quick and full scan will run faster.
- The Application Control and System Watcher components have been optimized for processing cloud files in the OneDrive storage. During scan, cloud files are downloaded to your local drive. This enhances the security of working with cloud services.
- It is now possible to copy your data from a damaged hard drive to the Dropbox online storage.
- The detection of devices that connect to your home Wi-Fi network has been improved. The operating system of a device and the device type are now detected more precisely.
- It is now possible to automatically switch to the paid subscription when the free evaluation period ends.
Known limitations
- When a USB Wi-Fi adapter connects for the first time, the application will be unable to detect that the device connects to an insecure network, until the operating system is restarted.
- While loading a web page in Internet Explorer in Protected Browser mode, the browser window may turn black.
- After reinstalling the application, Trusted Applications mode is disabled, even if it was enabled before the reinstallation.
- When upgrading from a previous application version, the data for proxy server authorization are not saved if they were detected automatically. The application will prompt you again for data for proxy server authorization.
- In some cases, when signing in to My Kaspersky from the application window, the user name entry field displays an old email address. When signing in to My Kaspersky for the first time after changing your user name, you need to specify your new email address if you have changed it.
- Backup copying and data recovery from storage might not be performed for large collections of files (over hundreds of thousands).
- If Windows Explorer is open on your computer, an attempt to fix the dangerous setting "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" may fail.
- Certain types of objects from the category Legitimate software that can be used by criminals to damage your computer or personal data are not processed from My Kaspersky. These threats must be processed on the computer.
- The application can drain CPU resources when the search for updates for installed applications and the search for unwanted applications run in background mode.
- On detecting some remote administration tools, password managers, or user activity monitoring tools, the application may show two notifications prompting the user to select an action for one and the same object.
- If the Always scan encrypted connections check box is selected, the application will scan encrypted connections even if you have paused protection.
- On certain websites, the application may block the download of additional pages in pop-up windows or frames. To fix the issue:
- Click the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the window.
- In the settings window, go to the Additional section and select Network.
- Clear the checkbox Inject scripts into web traffic to interact with web pages.
- After you enable the Anti-Banner component, banners on pages that are already opened in your browser are not blocked until you refresh the pages.
- If Microsoft Edge cannot switch to Protected Browser mode, the application starts a different browser installed on your computer in this mode.
