How to remove Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 6.x Agentless from an infrastructure managed by VMware NSX-V Manager
This article concerns:
- Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 6.1 Agentless
- Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 6.0 Agentless
To remove Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 6.x Agentless from the virtual infrastructure managed by VMware NSX-V Manager, do the following:
- Delete all SVM (secure virtual machines) with application components. See the guide below.
- Delete the NSX Policy where the use of application services is configured. See the guide below.
- Delete an NSX Group which contains the protected virtual machines. See the guide below.
- Cancel registration of the Kaspersky Security services and the Integration Server (Kaspersky Service Manager) in VMware NSX-V Manager. See the guide below.
We recommend that you cancel registration of the Kaspersky Security services and Integration Server through the Integration Server Console.
If the process ends with an error, you can manually cancel through VMware vSphere Client:
- Registration of the Kaspersky Security services. See the guide below.
- Registration of the Integration Server. See the guide below.
How to delete an SVM
To delete an SVM, delete the deployed Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection and Kaspersky Network Protection services on VMware clusters.
- Start the VMware vSphere Client console.
- Go to Networking and Security → Installation and Upgrade → Service Deployment.
- Select the service deployed on a cluster or clusters from which you want to delete the SVM:
- Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection, to delete the SVM with the File Threat Protection component.
- Kaspersky Network Protection, to delete the SVM with the Network Threat Protection component.
- Click the removal icon.
- You can schedule the removal for later, if necessary.
- Click OK.
- Wait until the removal is complete.
The SVM and the application components will be deleted.
How to delete the NSX Policy
- Start the VMware vSphere Client console.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Composer → Security Policies.
- Select the policy that has the use of Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection and/or Kaspersky Network Protection service configured in its settings.
- Click Delete and confirm your actions.
The NSX Policy will be deleted.
How to delete NSX Groups
If you created an NSX Group to add virtual machines to it during the installation of the application, delete it:
- Start the VMware vSphere Client console.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Composer → Security Groups.
- Select the NSX Group you want to remove.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm the removal.
How to cancel registration of the Integration Server and Kaspersky Security services through the Integration Server Console
To cancel the registration of the Integration Server (Kaspersky Service Manager) and Kaspersky Security services through VMware NSX Manager using the Integration Server Console:
- Start the Integration Server Console. The Virtual infrastructure protection section opens.
- Select the VMware vCenter Server and expand the list of available actions.
- In the Manage protection section, select Unregister Kaspersky Security services.
- Select the registered services and confirm the cancellation.
Registration of the Integration Server and Kaspersky Security services has been canceled.

How to cancel registration of the Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection service
- Start the VMware vSphere Client console.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Services Instances tab.
- Select Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection Service Instance and click the removal icon.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Services tab.
- Select Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection and click the removal icon.
- Confirm the removal.
- During the removal, VMware NSX-V Manager checks whether there are any NSX Service Profiles that are related to the Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection service. If there are such services and an error message is displayed, proceed as follows:
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Service Profiles tab.
- In the list, select the NSX Service Profile that was specified in the error message and click the removal icon.
- Confirm that you want to remove the profile.
- Repeat steps 4–6.
If the removal is successful, Kaspersky File Antimalware Protection will disappear from the list.
How to cancel registration of Kaspersky Network Protection
- Start the VMware vSphere Client console.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Service Instances tab.
- Select Kaspersky Network Protection-Global Instance and click the removal icon.
- Confirm the removal.
- During the removal, VMware NSX-V Manager tries to connect to Kaspersky Service Manager. If it fails to establish the connection and the error appears:
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Service Manager tab.
- In the list, select Kaspersky Service Manager and click the edit icon.
- In the window that opens, delete the content of the Base API URL field.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 2–4.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Services tab.
- In the table, select the Kaspersky Network Protection service and click the removal icon.
- Confirm the removal.
If the removal is successful, Kaspersky Network Protection will disappear from the list.
How to cancel registration of the Integration Server (Kaspersky Service Manager) manually
- Start the VMware vSphere Client console.
- Go to Networking and Security → Service Definitions and open the Service Manager tab.
- Select Kaspersky Service Manager and click the removal icon.
- Confirm the removal.
