How to set up the Web Anti-Virus component in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2018

Often criminals get unauthorized access to popular websites and inject malicious code in them. Opening such websites can pose threat to your security.
The Web Anti-Virus component of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2018 checks if the pages you open are safe.
How to enable or disable Web Anti-Virus
- In the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2018, click the gear button .
- If you have problems opening the application window, see this guide.
- In the right frame of the Settings window, you can enable or disable Web Anti-Virus by clicking the switch.
How to select the protection level and the action on threat detection
The action which is performed upon detection of a threat depends on the selected protection mode: interactive or automatic. You can select the protection mode in Settings → Protection→ Interactive protection.
- In the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2018, click the gear button .
- If you have problems opening the application window, see this guide.
- Go to the Protection section in the Settings window and select Web Anti-Virus.
- In the Web Anti-Virus settings window, select the security level.
- In the Action on threat detection drop-down menu, select the action you prefer:
- Select action automatically (for automatic protection mode). Web Anti-Virus will perform the action recommended by Kaspersky Lab.
- Prompt on action (interactive mode). Web Anti-Virus will prompt you to choose whether to block or allow the suspicious activity.
- Block. Web Anti-Virus blocks an object with the warning about infection.
- Allow. Web Anti-Virus will allow to open or download the object and check it with the File Anti-Virus component after that.
Advanced Settings
- In the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2018, click the gear button .

- Go to the Protection section in the Settings window and select Web Anti-Virus.
- In the Web Anti-Virus settings window, click Advanced Settings.
- In the Advanced Web Anti-Virus settings window:
- Configure checking links on websites. Select Check URLs → On all websites except those specified.
To exclude a website from being checked by Web Anti-Virus, click Manage exclusions.
Or, you can specify the websites where the links must be checked: select Check URLs → On specified websites only → Configure checked websites. - To exclude a website from the Web Anti-Virus check scope, select Configure trusted URLs. You should only add application you trust to the exclusions list.
- Select the types of threats to be detected on websites. This affects the performance of the device. However, we recommend that you leave all the options enabled.
- Configure checking links on websites. Select Check URLs → On all websites except those specified.
