How to use Backup in Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway
How to view messages in Backup
To view objects in the Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway backup storage:
Through the web interface
- Click Backup.
- Click the message and select View.
The information about an object will be displayed.
Through the console interface
- To view general information about Backup, run the command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --backup --statistics
- To view detailed information about all Backup objects, run the command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --backup --query
You can use the following parameters for filtering backup objects:
- --message-id
- --from — sender’s address
- --sender-ip — sender’s IP address
- --to — addressee’s address
- --subject
- --av — infected objects
- --ap — phishing
- --as — spam
- --ma — violation of the sender’s authenticity
- --kt — KATA objects
- --cf — content filtering
- --blacklisted
- --date-from
- --date-to
- --smtp-message-id
- --limit — maximum number of displayed objects
How to send, save or delete multiple messages from Backup
To send all messages in backup, run the command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --backup --query --mass-deliver
By default, 500 latest messages will be sent. Use the -limit parameter to set the number of messages to be sent.
To save all messages in backup to a file, run the command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --backup --query --mass-save <path_to_the_folder>
To delete all messages from backup, run the command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --backup --query --mass-remove
By default, 500 latest messages will be removed. Use the -limit parameter to set the number of messages to be deleted.
How to save a message to a file
To save a message from Kaspersky Security Mail Gateway Backup to a file:
Through the web interface
- Click Backup.
- Select the checkbox that corresponds to a message and click Save.
The message will be saved.
Through the console
Run the following command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --backup --save --message-id <message_ID> --rule-id <rule_ID> -f <file_name>
Messages are saved in the EML format.
How to change the Backup size
To change the maximum size of in the Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway storage:
- Click Backup.
- Click Backup maximum size.
- Change the value and click OK.
The size of Backup will be changed according to your settings.
How to manage the Backup size
To receive notifications when Backup is almost full:
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Enable the notification Backup is Almost Full.
- Click Backup.
- Click Free space threshold for sending notifications.
- Change the value and click OK.
Notifications will now be sent according to your settings.
