Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool is a utility designed to check and disinfect infected computers running Microsoft Windows operating systems. Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool detects viruses, Trojans, and other programs threatening the protected device, and lets users select how detected infected objects should be handled.

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool does not require installation. The application may be started in the following manner:

  • From the kvrt\ folder, start the kvrt.exe executable file included in the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes 3.2 distribution kit.
  • Click the Start scan for active infection link in the welcome window.

The utility cannot be started through the local Console or Administration Plug-in of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes 3.2.

After disinfecting any detected infection, the computer must be restarted. We recommend only starting Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool during the industrial network's maintenance windows.

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool is not part of the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes solution and does not depend on application components.

Anti-virus database updates are performed independently of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes 3.2 updates. When starting Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, the application will inform you if an update is required. To update the utility, you must be connected to the Internet.

The operation of Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool is governed by a separate End User License Agreement that you may read on the technical support site.

The technical support site also provides information about system requirements for the computer where the utility is started, and detailed instructions on working with Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.
