Kaspersky Safe Kids replaces Parental Control to help you look out of your kids online and elsewhere. Starting from versions Kaspersky Total Security 2019 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2019, you can migrate from Parental Control to Kaspersky Safe Kids. For your convenience, all supported settings will be copied from Parental Control and you won't need to set up the application manually. After you finish the migration process, Parental Control will be disabled.

Do not interrupt the migration process or quit Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Total Security. Otherwise, your Parental Control settings won't be transferred to Kaspersky Safe Kids and you will have to set up Kaspersky Safe Kids manually on the My Kaspersky website.

Migration from Parental Control is similar to the initial setup of Kaspersky Safe Kids.

The following settings are transferred from Parental Control:

  • Safe Search preferences
  • Categories of forbidden websites
  • Allowlists of websites
  • Categories of forbidden applications
  • Hour limits on computer use on weekdays and weekends
  • Time periods of computer use on weekdays and weekends
  • Time schedule of weekly computer use

Unlike Parental Control, Kaspersky Safe Kids doesn't support mixed computer use time settings. If you mixed hour limits on computer use with time periods, only the hour limits can be transferred to Kaspersky Safe Kids.

The following information is also transferred along with the settings:

  • Your email address registered on My Kaspersky
  • Account type (parent or child)
  • Subscription information

A license purchased for Kaspersky Total Security lets you use the premium version of Kaspersky Safe Kids.
