How to export update logs to a file in Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer

To know the cause of issues that occur during Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer databases updates, Kaspersky Lab Technical Support may need a detailed report of the Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 update. The results of the update task are logged into the application report.

In order to get a detailed update report, perform the following actions:

Step 1. Enable logging of non-critical events

In order to register all events of Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer, enable logging of non-critical events:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the upper right corner of the main application window, click Settings.

  1. In the Settings window, go to the Additional tab and select Reports and Quarantine in the left menu.
  2. In the right part of the Settings window, select the check box Log non-critical events.
  3. In the Settings window, click OK.

  1. Close the main application window.

Step 2. Run the databases update

Run the databases update task in Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer.

Step 3. Wait until the process is completed or an error message appears if the update process ends with an error

Step 4. Export the update report to a file

In order to export the update report, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the upper right part of the main application window, click Reports.

  1. In the bottom right part of the Reports window, click on the Detailed report button.

  1. In the left part of the Detailed report window, select Update.
  2. In the bottom left corner of the window, click Save.

  1. Select a folder where you would like to save the report.
  2. Enter a unique file name and click Save.

  1. In the Detailed report window, click the Close button.
  2. In the Reports window, click the Close button.
  3. Close the main application window.

Step 5. Add the created file to an archive

Add the created file to the archive with a unique name (for example, using WinZip).

Step 6. Create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support

Create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via My Kaspersky. Describe your issue in detail and attach the created report. You can find detailed instructions on how to work with the service in the respective FAQ for My Kaspersky.

Step 7. Disable logging of non-critical events

In order to disable registering all events, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the upper right corner of the main application window, click Settings.
  3. In the left part of the Settings window, go to the Additional tab and select Reports and Quarantine.
  4. In the right part of the Settings window deselect the checkbox Log non-critical events.
  5. Click OK in the Settings window.
