Before starting to install Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Server, make sure the following mandatory components are installed on the computer:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. If the component is not installed, the link to download it will be active in the Setup Wizard's welcome window.

Reboot the computer after installing Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. If you continue the installation without rebooting the computer, Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Server may malfunction. After the computer restarts, run the installation once again.

  • Microsoft Management Console 3.0 (MMC 3.0). Microsoft Management Console 3.0 is included into Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 and later. To install the product on earlier versions of Microsoft Windows Server, you must upgrade the component to version 3.0.

If Microsoft SharePoint Server version 2010 or 2013 is installed on the computer along with Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft Management Console 3.0, the installation wizard will prompt to install the Administration Console and the Protection Server.

If Microsoft SharePoint Server is not installed on the computer, then the installation wizard prompts to install only the Administration Console. It is not possible to install the Security Server on such a computer. Before installing Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Server on the autonomous SharePoint server or a SharePoint farm server, you must do the following:

  • Create a user account for managing Kaspersky Security.
  • Make sure the user account under which the installation will be run has the administrator privileges.
  • Create a database for storing application configuration files and Backup data.
  • Make sure the user account which will be used for managing Kaspersky Security has the administrator privileges.
