How to configure database update in Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway
How to set a schedule and adjust database update settings
You can set a schedule and adjust the parameters of the update through the command line or through the web interface.
To set a schedule and change settings through the command line:
- Export the update task settings into a file using the following command:
- Open the created file with task parameters.
- Go to the <schedule> section and set the parameters:
- ruleType — run tasks by schedule:
- Once
- Monthly
- Weekly
- Daily
- Hourly
- Minutely
- Manual
- startByTime - set the time of the database update start
- <year>
- <month>
- <day>,<dayOfMonth>
- <hour>
- <min>
- <sec>
- <dayOfWeek>
- <timePeriod> — period during which the task must start
- randInterval — set a random deviation of the task start time in minutes, if several tasks are stared simultaneously
- execTimeLimit — set maximum time for executing a task in minutes
- runMissed — run missed tasks:
- 1 — run missed tasks at next startup
- 0 — run tasks only according to the schedule
- ruleType — run tasks by schedule:
- Save the file.
- Import the file to the update task using the command:
The update task will run according to the schedule and settings you have specified.

How to configure proxy server for updates
You can set proxy server settings for the database update task through the command line or through the web interface.
To set a schedule and change settings through the command line:
- Export the update task settings into a file using the following command:
- Open the created file.
- In the <proxySettings> section, set the values for the following parameters:
- <enable> — use of proxy server:
- 0 — do not use
- 1 — use
- <serverAddress> — name or IP address of the proxy server
- <port> — number of the port for connection to the proxy server
- <authenticationType> — authentication settings:
- Plain — authentication required
- NotRequired — no authentication required
- <user>
- <password>
- <proxyBypassLocalAddresses> — use of proxy server for local addresses:
- 0 — use
- 1 — do not use
- <enable> — use of proxy server:
- Save the file.
- Import the file to the update task using the command:
Proxy server settings for database updates will be applied.
Settings example:

<authenticationType>NotRequired</authenticationType>
