A browser extension is a software module that adds additional features to your browser.
If you have a large number of extensions installed, your browser might run slowly and errors may occur. Some browser extensions are harmful and can change your homepage, default search engine, or display ads.
Check which extensions are installed in your browser and remove the ones you don’t use.
How to remove an extension from Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Go to Extensions → Manage extensions.
- Click Remove on the panel of the extension you want to remove.
- Click Remove in the confirmation pop-up window.
How to remove an extension from Mozilla Firefox
- Open Mozilla Firefox.

- for Mozilla Firefox, see the instructions on the Mozilla support site.
- for Microsoft Edge based on Chromium, in the address line type edge://settings/reset and click Restore settings to their default values → Reset.
