  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 SOS MP4
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers MP4
  • Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0
  • Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0 allows an administrator to simplify the process of installing Network agent and/or antivirus applications via Active Directory group policies. You can create a special remote installation task for domains containing the PCs you want to install the software to. It will create the following:

    • a group policy named Kaspersky_AK{GUID};

    • a security group under the same name related to this group policy.

      This security group will contain the client PCs within the given domain assigned with this task.  Security group composition defines the area of effect of the group policy and may be subject to change at next task runs if the selection of client computers has changed.

    Do the following:

    1. Create an installation package for the desired application.

    2. Start the remote installation wizard (from with an administration group / computer selection).

    3. Select Force uploading as installation method.

    4. Check the box Assign the package installation in the Active Directory group policies.
      Uncheck the boxes Using Network Agent and Using Microsoft Windows resources from shared folder.

      These settings define possible installation methods. For example, if you leave the box Using Network Agent checked, the application will be installed via Network agent instead of GPO, because it is faster. Installation via Active Directory group policy will not be executed then.

    5. When prompted to choose an account, select an account with a permission to create group policies. If the account which runs the Kaspersky Administration Server service has such permission, do not specify anything in this window.

    If you want to configure group policy settings manually, create an installation package for the desired application. Use an .msi file from the subfolder exec of the installation package - C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Packages\<application_name>\exec. If you want to place an application distribution package on a network resource, copy the entire exec folder to it.

    InformationDo not try to use any other folder but exec, because when you create an installation package, special configuration files critical for correct application work will be added into it. For example, Network agent package saves into this folder the settings of the Administration server it connects to. While an antivirus application package will save into exec folder the manually created configuration file setup.ini in which you can configure application installation settings.
