If you have acquired antivirus software for servers not as a separate product but as part of a package Kaspersky Open Space Security (BSS, ESS, TSS), it comes with two key files for file server and workstation protection:

  • one key file for 100% of acquired licenses for all file server and workstation protection applications version 6.0 and above. This key can be used with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.
  • another key for 10% of the total number of acquired licenses for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows File Servers.
Since Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition is included into the packages Kaspersky BSS, ESS, TSS, you can install this program using any key provided with the package.

Please note that the total number of installed antivirus applications for file servers and workstations should not exceed the number of purchased licenses (100%).

For example, you have acquired the package Kaspersky Business Space Security with 300 licenses. You will receive two keys:

  • a key for 300 licenses for the following applications:
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations;
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers;
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition;
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Novell NetWare;
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstations / Servers;
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Unix Workstations / Servers;
    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Samba Servers.

  • And a key for 30 licenses for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows File Servers.
    If you are using the second key on five servers, you can still use the first key on 295 hosts only (300-5=295).
If you have purchased Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows File Servers as a separate application, you cannot use  Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition. It would be impossible to use your key file to activate this product.
