On 11 April 2012 Kaspersky Lab announced the release of Critical Fix 2 for Kaspersky Security Center 9 (version 9.2.69).

Changes made to version 9.2.69 (Kaspersky Security Center 9 Critical Fix 2) as compared with version 9.0.2825 (Kaspersky Security Center 9.0 Critical Fix 1):

New features:

  • Support of Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 1.1 has been added.
  • The option to use NTLM authentication for the KSN Proxy component has been added.
  • The option of key file export has been added.
  • The option to view allocation rules created using the automation interface, has been added in Administration Console.


  • The error of display of dialog boxes for the management plugin of Kaspersky Antivirus for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition 8.0 has been fixed.
  • The problem with decreased performance and probable blocking of Administration Server with a large number of remote installation tasks running concurrently, has been fixed.
  • The error occurring when deleting the remote installation task that has created a group policy object in Active Directory, has been fixed.
  • A set of errors causing abort and decreased performance of Administration Server, has been fixed.
  • Disabling the Applications registry functionality clears the lists of applications on corresponding managed computers.
  • The error causing display of two copies of Network Agent in Applications registry, has been fixed.
  • Fixed a number of issues with running on a cluster.
  • No double entries in Device control.

Known issues

  • In case Administration Server is installed on the cluster, automatic installation of Administration Server patches cannot be activated.
  • Update Agent and Connection Gateway components cannot be used under Linux and Mac platforms.
  • Errors may occur when performing remote upgrade of Network Agent from version 6.0 to version 9.0.

Installing and updating

The following procedure is recommended to upgrade the application:

  • Back up Administration Server data using klbackup.exe utility or the Administration Server backup tasks.
    Please note that complete restoration of the Administration Server data requires saving the Server certificate.
  •  Run the installation of Kaspersky Security Center 9.2.69  on a computer with Administration Server installed and update this version of Administration Server. The Administration Server versions are backwards compatible. All data related to the previous version of the Administration Server version is stored after update.
  • Create a task of remote installation of Network Agent 9.2.69 to corporate computers: a group task or a task for specific computers. Run the task manually or according to a schedule. After the task is completed, Network Agent will be updated on client computers.

Warning After updating Kaspersky Security Center 9, you should verify Administration server address indicated in Network Agent installation package properties and correct it if necessary.
