Granting access to a blocked device in the Web Console

Granting access to a blocked device is available only if Kaspersky Security Center 16.1 is deployed in the organization and the client device is able to establish a connection with the Administration Server.

When the administrator receives a temporary access request from a user, the administrator can create an access key from the access request file in the Web Console.

To provide temporary access to the device, the administrator must have read, write, and execute permissions for the Data Encryption function (Users & roles → Roles → <user role> → user role properties window → Access rights tab → <application name> → Data Encryption → Read/Write/Execute).

To create an access key for a blocked device:

  1. In the main window of the Web Console, select Assets (Devices)Managed devices.

The list of managed devices opens.

  2. Select the administration group containing the relevant device and select the check box next to the name of the device.
  3. Above the list of managed devices, click the Grant access to the device in offline mode button. If this button is not displayed above the list of devices, click the three dots button and select the Grant access to the device in offline mode command from the menu.
  4. This opens the Application settings window; in that window, select the Device Control section.
  5. Click the Browse button and upload the access request file that you received from the user.

Information about the blocked device to which the user has requested access is displayed.

  6. If necessary, change the duration in hours in the Access duration field.

By default, Access duration is set to the value specified by the user when generating the access request file.

  7. If necessary, change the value in the Specify how long an access key can be used on the client device (in hours) field.

This field contains the time period during which the access key can be uploaded by the user.

  8. Click the Create key button.
  9. Save the access key file with the *.acode extension.
