Launching Anti-Theft functions using SMS commands

In case your device is lost or stolen you can remotely launch Anti-Theft functions or hide confidential data using SMS commands from the Kaspersky Internet Security interface on another device. To send an SMS command, you have to know the secret code to Kaspersky Internet Security on your device.

If SIM Watch is enabled on the lost device, you will get the new phone number when your SIM card is replaced on the device. The number will be sent to your additional phone number specified in Anti-Theft settings. Use the new phone number to launch other Anti-Theft functions on your device.

You can launch Anti-Theft functions on your device using SMS commands if a SIM card is inserted in your device. Outgoing SMS commands are billed according to the data plan of the network provider for the other mobile device.

To remotely launch Anti-Theft and hide confidential data on the device:

  1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security on the other device.
  2. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, tap Settings > Anti-Theft.
  3. Enter the secret code for the app.

    If you forget the secret code, you can recover it.

  4. Tap Send SMS commands.
  5. Tap Send SMS command now, and then create the command and send it to your device. When creating an SMS command, use the secret code to Kaspersky Internet Security on your device.

    After all data has been removed and the device has been reset to factory settings, it will no longer be able to receive and carry out remote commands.

You will receive a command execution report in a return text message.
