Purpose of the secret code

The secret code for the app is requested in the following cases:

• To access Anti-Theft, Privacy Protection, and App Lock settings.
• To open apps that are protected by App Lock.
• When sending an SMS command in the Kaspersky Internet Security interface on another device, to remotely turn on the device alarm, lock the device, locate it on a map, wipe data, or hide private contacts and related information.

You will be prompted to specify the secret code to the app during initial configuration of Anti-Theft, at the first launch of Privacy Protection, or during initial configuration of App Lock. You can later change the installed secret code for the app.

The secret code for the app consists of numerals. The minimum number of numerals in the secret code is four.

On devices of some manufacturers a secret code becomes a system PIN code after device is blocked. A manufacturer can limit the number of symbols in the system PIN code. To avoid potential problems while unblocking such devices we recommend to specify a secret code in which a number of symbols matches the number of symbols in the system PIN code.

If you forget the secret code, you can restore it on the My Kaspersky or on the device.
