Locking the vault automatically

Kaspersky Password Manager automatically locks the vault if the device has been idle for a certain period of time. You can specify the time period after which the vault will be locked automatically, or disable automatic locking of the vault. The value of this interval varies between 1 and 60 minutes. By default, the vault is locked after the device has been idle for 60 minutes.

If automatic device locking is disabled, your personal data will not be protected when you leave the device unattended, unless you manually lock the data vault or your device. You are particularly advised to enable automatic locking if the device is shared by several users.

If necessary, you can configure automatic notifications about locking the data vault. When a browser switches to a website containing fields for entering a login and password, Kaspersky Password Manager reminds you that the data vault is locked. You must unlock the data vault to automatically log in to the website.

To change the time period after which the vault will be locked automatically, or to disable automatic locking of the vault:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the lower part of the window, click the button.
  3. In the application tray menu, select the Settings item.

    The application settings window opens.

  4. In the left part of the window, select the General section.
  5. In the right part of the window, in the Autolock drop-down list, do one of the following:
    • To edit the time period after which the data vault will be automatically locked, select the number of minutes for this period.
    • To disable automatic locking of the vault, select Off.
  6. If you want to see automatic notifications about locking the data vault, select the Prompt to unlock vault if login and password entry fields are detected on a website check box.
