Configure the app for your child
After installing Kaspersky Safe Kids on your child's mobile device, configure the app for use by your child. Once your child's device is configured, age restrictions and other protection settings are applied.
Before configuring Kaspersky Safe Kids, you need to configure Screen Time on you child's device.
You need an Apple ID with a valid payment method to set up Kaspersky Safe Kids using the Screen Time. Please find detailed information about valid payment methods available in your country on the Apple Support website.
- On the parent's device, go to Settings and tap your Apple ID.
- Tap Family Sharing and in the top right corner, tap the Add Member button.
- If your child already has an Apple ID, tap Invite Others and follow the instructions to add your child to the Family Sharing group.
Please verify that your child's birth date is correct, otherwise some restrictions may not work. If your child's birth date is not correct, change it after adding your child to the Family Sharing group. Learn more on the Apple Support website.
If your child doesn't have an Apple ID or uses your Apple ID, tap Create Child Account to create a new Apple ID and add it to the Family Sharing group. Learn more on the Apple Support website.
When creating your child's Apple ID, skip the configuration of Screen Time.
- If your child already has an Apple ID, tap Invite Others and follow the instructions to add your child to the Family Sharing group.
- On your child's device, sign in to your child's Apple ID.
- If you are setting up the device from scratch, skip configuration of Screen Time by tapping Later.
- Go to Kaspersky Safe Kids installation.
With Screen Time you can take full advantage of all the functions of Kaspersky Safe Kids. With Screen Time:
- Your child won't be able to delete the app;
- You can use Web Activity Monitoring (monitor which websites your child visits);
- You can use Device Block for your child's device.

Depending on the OS of your child's device, there may be a different number of features available. Due to internal restrictions of iOS, some of the features of Kaspersky Safe Kids cannot work there.

At first startup, follow the instructions in the app.
If you finish configuring the app and later decide to configure Kaspersky Safe Kids for use by a parent, you must uninstall the app and then install the app again.
To configure Kaspersky Safe Kids for use by a child and turn on protection:
- Start Kaspersky Safe Kids on your child's mobile device.
The Kaspersky Safe Kids welcome screen opens.
- Review the key features of the app and tap Continue.
A window with terms and conditions opens.
- Review the legal documents.
- If you agree with the documents, select the corresponding checkboxes. Tap Confirm, if you agree with the documents.
- If you disagree with the documents, close the app and do not use it.
- Connect the device to My Kaspersky:
- If you already have a My Kaspersky account, do the following:
- Enter your credentials.
- Tap Sign In.
- If you do not have a My Kaspersky account, do the following:
- Tap Don't have an account.
- Complete the registration process.
A message with an account activation link is sent to the email address you specified. Tap the link to confirm your registration.
- Tap Continue.
You can also create an account on My Kaspersky.
- If you already have a My Kaspersky account, do the following:
- You will see the Statement regarding data processing for marketing purposes. Tap Skip.
In the child’s mode data is not processed for marketing purposes.
- Specify that this is a child's device.
- Specify the child who uses this mobile device:
- Select the child in the list of children.
- Add a child if the list of children doesn't include the child who uses this mobile device. Do the following:
- Tap Add child.
- Specify your child's details:
- Your child's name. This name is displayed when you receive alerts about your child's activity.
- Your child's birth year. Your child's age determines the default settings that Kaspersky Safe Kids uses to monitor your child's device.
- Your child's photo.
- Tap Add.
You can also add your child's details on My Kaspersky.
- Tap Continue and allow Kaspersky Safe Kids to access the device location.
- Allow Parental Control to manage restrictions.
- Allow Kaspersky Safe Kids to send notifications.
- Allow Kaspersky Safe Kids to access child’s location while using app.
- Tap Done.
Kaspersky Safe Kids is configured. You can give the device to your child.
iOS operating system functionality makes it possible to hide Kaspersky Safe Kids notifications on your child's device using operating system settings.
How to set up Kaspersky Safe Kids using the Screen Time API after updating to version 1.87.0.XXX
You need an Apple ID with a valid payment method to set up Kaspersky Safe Kids using the Screen Time. Please find detailed information about valid payment methods available in your country on the Apple Support website.
- If Kaspersky Safe Kids is already installed on your child's device, you first need to delete it and remove Kaspersky Safe Kids profile.
On your child's device, do the following:
- Tap and hold the Kaspersky Safe Kids icon.
- Tap Remove App → Delete App → Delete.
Kaspersky Safe Kids will be removed from your child's device.
- Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. Choose the Kaspersky Safe Kids profile and tap Remove Profile. You will need to enter the passcode to confirm your action.
The Kaspersky Safe Kids profile will be removed from your child's device.
- On the parent's device, go to Settings and tap your Apple ID.
- Tap Family Sharing and in the top right corner, tap the Add Member button.
- If your child already has an Apple ID, tap Invite Others and follow the instructions to add your child to the Family Sharing group.

- Install Kaspersky Safe Kids on your child's device and start it.
- During the app setup, you will be prompted to configure restrictions on your child's device using the Screen Time API. Tap OK.
- Finish the setup of the app for your child.
Now you can use Screen Time to set up the restrictions for your child.
