You can install KES Light Agent in the following ways:
Removing KSVLA Light Agent
You can remove the application remotely using the Install application remotely task, locally on the virtual machine, or in the virtual machine template. After removing KSVLA Light Agent, you may need to restart the virtual machine.
After removing KSVLA Light Agent, install KES Light Agent using any suitable method.
Installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security
If Password protection is enabled to restrict access to KSVLA Light Agent, before installing KES Light Agent, you need to disable Password protection in the policy of KSVLA Light Agent. You cannot enter the uninstallation password in KES Light Agent installation package settings. After completing the installation of KES Light Agent on top of KSVLA Light Agent, you must enable Password protection in the KES policy.
When installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security, you must select the Light Agent to protect virtual environments mode. Before installing KES Light Agent on a virtual machine, the installer detects KSVLA Light Agent as incompatible software and removes it. The migration of KSVLA Light Agent configuration is not supported. That is, when you install KES Light Agent, the set of components to install is determined by your selection in installation package properties or in the installation wizard. After removing KSVLA Light Agent, you must restart the virtual machine.
Settings and tasks of KSVLA Light Agent are not migrated when you install KES Light Agent. To migrate settings and tasks, run the Policies and tasks batch conversion wizard.
You can check the list of installed components in the Security section of the application interface, using the status
command, or in the Kaspersky Security Center console in computer properties. You can change the set of components after installation by using the Change application components.
