Access to CD/DVD drives via the Device Control component in Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows in versions earlier than Service Pack 2

The Device Control component controls users’ access to CD/DVD drives on computers.

Configuring schedule, access type, groups and user restrictions for CD/DVD drives on the Types of devices tab in Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows is unavailable for versions earlier than Service Pack 2. When selecting CD/DVD drives, the Edit option remains inactive:

Cause

This behavior is correct for versions earlier than Service Pack 2. Service Pack 2 and later versions feature no such limitations.

Solution

Upgrade Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows to version Service Pack 2 or later.
