Kaspersky Security for Vritualization 5.1 Light Agent was released on July 16, 2019. Full version number is 5.1.44.295.
What's new
- There is now support for new types of guest operating systems (Linux and Windows).
- Support for Skala-R and HUAWEI FusionSphere virtual infrastructures.
- The Mail Anti-Virus can now be installed on virtual machines running a Microsoft Windows server operating system.
- The System Watcher can now be installed on virtual machines running a Microsoft Windows server operating system.
- System Watcher now provides protection of shared folders against external encryption.
- Application Startup Control now has a "black list" mode that allows all users to start all applications except those that are specified in Application Startup Control rules.
- For Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 5.1 Light Agent, there is now the capability to use the universal license key intended for Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business. This key lets you protect a certain number of virtual machines regardless of the operating system installed on them.
- There is now the capability to grant user accounts the permissions to execute certain actions within the functional scopes of Kaspersky Security.
- There is now support for security tags (NSX Security Tags), which Kaspersky Security can assign to a protected virtual machine within an infrastructure managed by a VMware vCenter Server and VMware NSX Manager.
- There is now the capability for remote installation of Light Agent for Linux.
- There is now the capability to scan secure connections that are established using the SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2, or TLS 1.3 protocols.
- Light Agent for Linux scan tasks now include scanning boot sectors, system memory, and startup objects.
- The functionality of the Kaspersky Security Components Installation Wizard has been expanded. Now it contains the files necessary for installing Light Agent for Windows and Light Agent for Linux, and lets you download SVM images containing the Protection Server component from the Kaspersky Lab website. In addition, during installation of the Kaspersky Security administration plug-ins and Integration Server, the Wizard automatically creates installation packages for remote installation of Light Agent for Windows and Light Agent for Linux in Kaspersky Security Center.
- There is now the capability to perform initial configuration of new SVMs and reconfiguration of previously deployed SVMs through the provided API manually or by using automation tools. This lets you deploy and configure SVMs without having to use the SVM Management Wizard that is started from the Integration Server Console.
- Kaspersky Security is now compatible with Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform 3.6. The Light Agent for Windows component can now protect virtual machines on which Endpoint Sensor from Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform 3.6 are installed.
- There is now the capability to automatically suspend a scheduled virus scan task.
- There is now support for the GlusterFS file system on virtual machines that have Light Agent for Linux installed.
- You can now verify the certificate or key fingerprint of a hypervisor or virtual infrastructure administration server before connecting the Integration Server and SVM Management Wizard to the virtual infrastructure.
- The algorithm for selecting the SVMs used by Light Agents was refined to optimize operation of the application in large infrastructures.
