Criminals often insert malicious code into web pages. If you open such a website, the security of your computer may be at risk.
The Web Anti-Virus component of Kaspersky Security Cloud checks all the web pages you try to open and blocks them if they pose risk.
How to enable or disable Web Anti-Virus
- Open the settings of Kaspersky Security Cloud by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.
- If you don’t know how to open the application window, see this guide.
- In the Settings window, click Protection. You can enable or disable Web Anti-Virus by clicking the switch in the right frame.
How to select the protection level and actions to be performed upon detected threats
The action to be performed on threat detection depends on the protection mode set in Kaspersky Security Cloud: interactive or automatic. To change the protection mode, go to Settings → General and select or clear check boxes in the Interactive protection block.
- Open the settings of Kaspersky Security Cloud by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.
- For the guide on opening the application window, please refer to this article.
- In the Settings view, click Protection → Web Anti-Virus.
- In the Web Anti-Virus settings window, select the security level.
- In the Action on threat detection drop-down menu, select the action you prefer:
- Select action automatically (for automatic protection mode). Web Anti-Virus will perform the action recommended by Kaspersky Lab.
- Prompt on action (interactive mode). Web Anti-Virus will prompt you to choose whether to block or allow the suspicious activity.
