Kaspersky Fraud Prevention 4.0 for Endpoint protects your computer against attacks on DNS requests as follows:

  • Protects DNS requests against IP address substitution (checks if the IP address matches the domain). If the application detected a DNS request substitution, you will see a notification that prompts you to allow requests to the website or disable DNS request control.
  • Traces changes to the HOSTS file and the corresponding System Registry key. When the application detects changes, it runs a domain and IP address checkup.
  • Disinfects the HOSTS file in case of malicious changes. After the process is completed, the application sends statistics to Kaspersky Fraud Prevention Web Console.
  • Please note. The application does not handle HOSTS files whose size exceeds 4 MB.
